one of the most egregious times he shit on an opportunity - oh god this INFURIATES ME every time i think about it - was when i got him a hookup with a voice acting agency.
so this awesome film student made a music video for my band for a class, right? and he happened to work at a legitimate VA agency. lazy ex (LE) loves voice acting and it's always been a dream career of his (albeit not something he'd actively pursue, since that's unrealistic).
i sloppily put together a reel of some stuff LE had recorded for fun - again, this kid is SUPER TALENTED. my friend at the agency was like, "he would be awesome for video games, and we have a lot of those scripts come thru!! now we just need him to submit a narrative reel; have him record these 4 short commercials." it was clear that this was a formality and that LE was already in the door. not just his foot - his whole ass body. what did he do?? fucking NOTHING. he tried reading thru them a handful of times over several months. got super defensive every time i reminded him. i fucking sjfjfjtjfh NO ONE gets opportunities HANDED TO THEM like that in creative fields. squandered like everything else everyone else has done for him |
