"Regional center" option of Eb-5 investment visas allowed investors to lend $500k usually to a real estate developer and get green cards for the entire family. That option was allowed to expire. 4,100 visas to Chinese nationals were given under this option in 2019. What is left over is the "direct option" which requires managing a business and is not popular. Fewer than 10% of visas given are under this option.
Tucker should talk about this and make sure Congressmen bribed by developers don't bring back the regional center option. It makes clear to well off Chinese that they have to fix things and can't run. |
