Got into a huge fight with shitlib gf over who found Hen of the Forest mushrooms

Date: October 17th, 2021 11:11 AM Author: razzmatazz hell juggernaut i went on a very long hike with shitlib gf yesterday. she spotted a huge cache of hen of the forest mushrooms. we collected them, and were dreaming about what to make with them today. i was going to make a mushroom pie and mushroom risotto.
we had been drinking all day, and after she's had a few she gets VERY surly. on the way home i could tell she was starting to transition to demon drunk surly mode. so, i was being very kind and avoiding doing anything to set her off. by the time we got home i could tell she was in a mood, even though nothing had happened yet. i planned to just go to sleep as quickly as possible. before we went to bed, a small fight over the mushrooms occurred. it went something like this:
me: "i can't wait to cook a bunch of awesome stuff with the mushroom we found"
her: "what? *I* found the mushrooms"
me: "yeah, well usually when people are out in a group and something is found, they will say "we" found something instead of the person who spotted it"
her: "no, *I* found them. you're trying to take credit for the mushrooms!"
me: "take credit? with who? this is just between you and I"
her: "i can't believe you're trying to take credit for the mushrooms i found"
this might sound playful because of how stupid it is, but she was deadly serious. at this point i know very well when she's reached a point in her drinking where every little thing will piss her off and she'll try to start a fight over anything. i noticed she was still drinking, so i knew she would be passed out soon. so i muttered something like "you're really starting to piss me off" before we went to bed. she tried to continue the fight but i just said "this is really stupid" and turned on "midnight mass" loud enough that she wouldn't be able to keep it going.
we woke up this morning and fucked twice. during post coital cuddles, this conversation occurred:
her: "i can't believe you tried to take credit for the mushrooms"."
me: "what? why are you trying to start this again?"
her: "it's just really ridiculous since i found the mushrooms."
me: "this is going to escalate, why are you doing this?"
it, in fact, did escalate into a huge blowout fight. i left in a huff and just got home.
