But 99% of the country lived rural, didn't have a dime in the stock market, and basically lived off the land before the crash came along. So the great crash arrives and they had to cut back on nickel movies and once a week soda pop? These were my grandparents and great grandparents. They didn't have it great but they didn't pile all their belongings on a donkey and head to California either.
