If you consider the Palestinian territories to be a country, that is the obvious answer. Otherwise my vote would be for Myanmar. In the 2010's, it had ended military rule and held free democratic elections. Foreign investment was pouring in, and it was one of the most rapidly growing economies in the world. Then a military coup happened in 2021, plunging the country into civil war with the military government only controlling portions of the country. Foreign investment has disappeared, the economy has collapsed, and it is dangerously close to becoming a failed state (if it isn't there already).

Venezuela would be another good candidate, although it is stretching the definition of "recent." But currently, I am fairly certain no other country has fallen as far or as fast as Myanmar.
