Having a second baby in a few weeks and we want a new car with enough room for our two little dudes with child seats but we live in a city so our garage is pretty small (mostly the entrance is narrowish). We currently have a ford bronco sport but the rear seats are too small for child seats and the front seats to be comfortable. Are there any compact SUVs that would work or do we need to go mid size?

I went through this and you are better off with a Subaru Outback. Backseats way more roomy than any SUV. Trunk space too.

If you're worried about narrow parking, minivan is tcr because of sliding doors, especially if your kids still need help buckling themselves. Compact SUVs aren't even SUVs. They're all just crossovers. The third row really helps with car seats since you still have free seats an adult can sit in without having to move the carseats.

Update: ended up buying a Lexus RX 350, 2022 model with about 3800 miles on it for 41,000. It’s the last model with the V6 which has since been phased out for a 4 cylinder TT. Sensible and nice if somewhat boring car.
