Depends how far you are willing to go to put yourself in that environment. Imagine you have a spiritual reawakening and find yourself hungry for a life more immersed in Judaism. Go to an Orthodox matchmaker and, if you're handsome and can support a family, you will have your pick of the litter from the local Yeshiva pipeline.

Focus on fundamentals - how CORRECT is your grip, stance, posture? Sometimes adjusting these areas can make a big difference in your iron play.

Do you have a consistent tempo in your swing? I have a long backswing but I always emphasize the importance of a SMOOTH, rhythmic swing.

You may want to experiment with the position of the ball in your stance. For shorter irons, the ball should be more centered. For longer ones it should really be slightly forward.

Make sure your irons are suite dto your game - for example, sometimes the wrong shaft flex or clubhead design can negatively impact your shots.

Consider taking lessons from a local PGA pro who can analyze your swing and provide well informed coaching.

You need skills, there is no getting around that. Most people get that through hard work and mentorship in a very focused area.

I'm a believer in specialization though you can pursue the generalist route which might be easier in the short term with an earlier plateau. Picking a single area of law and building an online presence, creating valuable content, networking, offering free consultations, collecting/showcasing client testimonials, investing in online advertising... If you do all of these things it will be only be a matter of some short time before you're making money. It's all about DILIGENT EXECUTION.

i need to get a 9-5 job to secure a lower-middle class salary and thus life stability. my passions lie elsewhere but i'm more than content pursuing those at night unpaid at this point. i haven't had an office job in many, many years, so at best all of my skills are going to be "transferable" rather than anything i've demonstrated directly. i am very eager to learn, as well as desperate and gay enough to perform any sex acts on any potential interviewers or employers as might be required. how fucked? what do?

This is hard to answer without certain variables. What are your skills? Can you sell? What do you do reasonably well? What credentials/degrees have you earned? How much $$$ are you looking for in a 9-5 job? Where do you live? Are you mobile?

a better way to phrase my question might have been "what can i reasonably claim as my skills?" i'm not sure. Ph.D. in humanities; have sold kids on humanities majors for years, so someone must find me persuasive enough; i have random experience in things that i presume many email girls claim, such as organizing large events with many moving parts and coordinating between departments etc.; lots of misc. tech skills, but not enough to actually hack it as a dev and too old to catch up to current standards, i'm guessing (the fuck is a "docker" and why do we need one?); i'm notably good as a researcher generally and have done archival work, but i can't imagine that's widely transferable; nffi on location, but not flyover and i'm committed to staying in the region; i have no idea what normie jobs pay, but i've lived on 25-65k for over a decade and would be happy with some number in between (say ~45k, no kids and needs are relatively few) as long as it stayed consistent year-to-year; 100k is an inconceivably large amount of money to me.

Jesus Christ, if that's all you need to live your best life then I would abandon the concept of professional life altogether. I would learn a high value trade and, medium to longer term, start my own business. There is no greater indignity to the human spirit than spending your hours, days, weeks, months, years hunched over in front of a screen.

I am on the clock about 18 hours per day and my diet has gone to shit. I now weigh 215 on a 5'9 formerly muscular frame. I have no time to exercise and get terrible phenotype anxiety when I go to a gym (which I don't have time for anyway). How do I at least get my diet under control? Today I consumed 4000 calories at an Indian buffet (no other meals but 4 large ice coffees).

You absolutely must prioritize sleep. 7-8 hours a night. This is non-negotiable.

You need to manage your stress - stress leads to poor food choices. You need to sit quietly and pray, meditate, do deep breathing exercises for 15-20 minutes, twice a day. If this seems ridiculous to you - humor me, and try it for a week.

How much water are you drinking? You should be drinking at least 2-3 liters of filtered water. Ideally filtered water that has never been in plastic.

Be mindful of your eating habits. Slow down. Only eat animal protein (ideally from a butcher or farm) and organic fruit and vegetables for a while. That's it. Meat/fish/poultry/eggs + fruits and veggies. Don't be a pussy, you can make that work just fine. Don't eat out - cook at home - and do not buy stuff that's in a package. Eat twice a day. Only use extra virgin olive oil and pure butter to cook.

Chill out with four large iced coffees. Have your coffee but stop it at 12 or 1pm.

Consider intermittent fasting (e.g. having those two meals in an 8-hour window and fasting the other 16).

If you did this for even two months your life would be completely different.

Do you understand the neurological aspects of ADHD as they relate to your own impulses? That is important and self-awareness goes a VERY long way to focusing your energy and attention.

There are a lot of natural methods of enhancing focus and cognitive function. You may have brain fog from a shit diet so that demands examination. Make sure you're getting high levels of omega 3 fatty acids, doing cardio 3-4 times a week, and - as I stated to someone earlier - practicing something like mindfulness meditation for 15-20 min. a day and be hugely impactful on reducing impulsivity and enhancing attention.

Sleep hygiene is critical. You need 7-8 hours and that needs to be your guiding principle in managing your time and schedule.

Breathing techniques absolutely reduce stress and enhance focus.

I have a really hard time organizing my time. I have severe ADHD and it's held me back my entire career. I have a lot of potential avenues to success but they all require sitting for long periods and focusing which I can't do. I refuse to take stims because the crashes are too runinous and I don't want to become a benzo addict to manage the crash every day. I can't even drink coffee without getting a horrible headache. How do I become disciplined enough to see projects through? I feel lost. My brain has no focus juice ever. I am the poster child for wasted potential given my natural abilities.

To be fair her tongue is too small to have gotten too far into anyone's ass. Also mindlessly shitpoasting on XO is no sign of one's potential productivity in the real world. In fact it's the opposite. The more you megapoast the less likely you are to possess the willpower to accomplish anything.

people don't "crash" from stims if they're not abusing them. and stim abuse certainly isn't managed with fucking xanax. a doctor won't prescribe xanax to a patient with addiction issues.

adderall xr or some other extended release stim = no crashing.

if you've suffered this for some time and have been unable to change course through effort, then the only option is pharmacology. this is like when disco is like "i'd do anything to not be fat but i can't manage to exercise" and someone says "maybe you should consider ozempic or surgery" and he flat out refuses.

ok? it's up to every individual how long they will attempt to solve a problem before they go another route. maybe you'll have some miracle burst of discipline. but if it hasn't happened yet, what are the odds? and how long do you intend to keep trying it your way before you'll consider something else? in my experience most people just wind up having to accept "this is how it is" and just give up on changing at all if they refuse to consider alternative solutions.

Bad take. People react to stims differently. Adderall makes me feel awful after even just one or two doses. I crash.

i should have been clearer. people who are prescribed stims and take them regularly and responsibly do not crash. this might take some experimenting with different types. but once you get going, if you actually have severe ADHD, stims don't result in a manic/crash cycle.

it's like coffee. give a teenager two cups of coffee and they'll be jazzed up and then crash. and adult who regularly has 2 cups before noon doesn't.

Again you are really off if you think that all people react to stimulants in the same way and a magical piece of paper called a “prescription” does not change that fact. I could’ve prescribed these drugs and take them regularly and responsibly, but it would still feel awful. You are just justifying your doctor sanctioned drug abuse.

You may be an expert in how you effectively managed stumps for yourself, but different people will react differently no matter how responsibly used.

For me personally I would describe the effect of stims as mental anguish. It causes an unimaginable pain. Also the benefits are limited. While there is some benefit to focus it's uncontrollable. I can get 'stuck' in a loop doing a task over and over and lack the ability to break out of it.

I've seen this effect with others too. I once gave a friend a stim and he spent several hours cleaning his car. He was 'stuck' on that task. It didn't benefit his life overall than just having cleaned the car, but no long term progress on dedicated goals. Another chick I gave one to spent hours practicing violin. She hadn't played in years. So it's not clear what the benefit is. It seems like you just get hyper motivated to tackle some random task not of your choosing. You're not really in control. And the crashes are horrendous. There's a reason why people who use stims get into benzos to come down. There was a famous actor who recently admitted to this. He needed Adderall to be productive but the crashes were horrific so he got deep into Xanax. It's just true, the crashes are awful for some people. And then you feel like you have to keep taking it to stay on top of work and then you take benzos to relax because you can't otherwise. And some people fall deep into addiction that way.

Throughout my life I have been prescribed Adderall XR, Adderall IR, Concerta, Focalin, Ritalin, and Vyvanse. I have had an equally bad experience with all. You can add coffee, tea, and Dr. Pepper. All stimulants make me feel horrible. But I guess you're the expert on psychopharmacology.

lots of medications make people feel bad until they're acclimated. and every prescription medicine has a risk/reward. only you can know whether your life is better on or off. but considering all the new innovations and drugs i wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea completely if you've tried every other option and nothing has worked.

i do feel like somewhat of an expert since i was also refused to consider psychopharmacology until i had severely fucked up my life. and i still believe it should be a last resort and taken at the lowest possible dosage to solve a disorder. stims are super overprescribed. but if you legit have severe adhd that you haven't been able to overcome through effort, what other options do you have?

good diet and exercise is essential. the issue i have with adhd is that if untreated i eventually get into a rut i have trouble getting out of. if i could manage to keep up with my responsibilities and maintain a healthy lifestyle then i wouldn't really even consider that having adhd that needs psychopharmacology.

exercise and good diet can get people out of a funk. but if you can't manage to do it, then it's not a viable option. all of my problems boiled down to "this wouldn't be a problem if i could just buckle down and do it." i think that's what you mean with the brain juice.

I think I can develop the discipline. I used to be in amazing shape maybe 5 years ago. I was very lean and cut up. I maintained this for several years too.

The thing that got in the way was maintaining strict discipline forever was tough. I actually had a gf (before tbtp) with poor eating habits that ruined me. Also in order to maintain a truly lean physique I had to go to some extremes like barring people from bringing food over or refusing to go to dinners with people. It was a lot of effort. But my kooky lifestyle actually worked until a chick with really big cans decided she wasn't going to leave my bedroom and started ordering takeout. That killed me.

But I obviously have the disciple because I've done it before and my health deteriorated to the point where I can't ignore it anymore, so right now I have the motivation. I remember there was a clip of Conor McGregor in Las Vegas training for a big fight and he was talking about the rules of being in the house and he said if you bring over desserts you're an asshole. That's how I used to be. It seems crazy but if you want to reach your goal sometimes you have to be extreme.

this was exactly my attitude. i boot-strapped from the dindu thunderdome into the heights of scholarship. i kept telling myself that if i had the discipline before i could do it again.

i hope you manage to do it. i just think that it's important for any person should have some point where they face the fact that whatever they're trying to do isn't working. there is a difference between persistence and obstinance. there is nothing noble of sisyphus. not saying this is you, just speaking generally. i have a lot of friends who are very smart and talented but unaccomplished who are now on the other side of 40, and it's very sad to see the realization that it just isn't going to happen for them start to sink it. sometimes when you have a lot of talent it is easy to think that your accomplishments are inevitable.

I never thought they were inevitable. I'm very humble. I believe in myself, especially if I can establish a track record of discipline. The issue is dedication and I believe it's in my control. I feel better after poasting ITT. I'm not a hopeless case imo.

i wasn't speaking about you specifically.

as an autonomous human being everything is strictly within your control. just like people with bpd and control their behavior. but the disorder element adhD and bpD refers to being unable to exercise that control for some reason.

saying "if i can just X everything will work out" is how people avoid confronting disorders. how many years can that persist before a self-reflective person admits that they can't do X?

I did a lot of research on ADHD. The funny thing is that the only way to accurately define it is that you're in the bottom 25% of humans in terms of executive functioning, and/or your symptoms rise to the level of a clinical disorder insofar as they meet the requirement of substantially impeding your life with real consequences. As such, there are many millions of people who fit either side of the definition. And yet there is such thing as internal drive and character to where the effects may be offset. A 10% increase in personal productivity and discipline can easily dig you out of the bottom quartile and into the territory of a non-clinical disorder, which statistically greatly reduces the negative effects of the disorder.

I think where people struggle with understanding ADHD is they may be in the bottom half or in the lowest quartile of executive functioning but they compare themselves to people in the top 10%. That's where most highly successful people are. And that's what our economy demands in terms of white collar success, this sort of giga robot who can work every minute of the day and never slow down. So the truth is with diet and exercise and discipline and orienting your whole life around a goal, you're ceiling without medication is you can probably be as productive as your average person if absolutely everything goes right. But no one wants that. It's a lot of work for little payoff. Everyone wants to be like CSLG or Tom Brady and have that Laser Focus™ to reach the highest career heights. And yeah maybe for that someone with ADHD needs meds. But I think with my plan I can at least be as productive as the average person.

sure. but until cognitive science advances to the point we can see inside a person's head and know what they're thinking and feeling, the best we can do is see how their thoughts and feelings manifest outwardly.

i think a lot of highly successful people probably have "ADHD" but don't have the "disorder" part because they've developed the discipline and habits to use their hyperactivity productively. but that's what i was trying to get at with the "if i could just do X everything would be fine" thing. there has to be some point where a person attempting and failing to do X accepts that, for some reason, they're unable to do X, and find some other solution. the alternative is sisyphusmaxxing in the hopes one do you push the boulder up the hill or acceptance (despair).

That's right, the only way we know it's a disorder is if it's affecting you negatively. If you don't have any problems you don't have the disorder. If you overcome your issues of executive functioning you no longer have ADHD definitionally. You're only are a deficit relative to other humans. But everyone jumped assumes they're going to be superman. Everyone wants to be Tom Brady. That's an unlikely comparison.

yeah. additionally, most disorders are comprised of ordinary things that result in disorderly behavior. every woman has birdbrain glitchouts, but it's bpd when the frequency and intensity is extreme. everyone has difficulty maintaining attention and can be hyperactive. everyone has anxiety. sadly psychopharmaceuticals are overprescribed because because we've lowered the bar on what level of ordinary behaviors rise to the level of "disorder." lil johnny has trouble paying attention in class so lets stim him up on addy in middle school.

it's the whole pendulum thing. before we stigmatized mental health, now we've embraced it so much that everyone has some disorder for having ordinary human emotions. that's why i think pills should always be a last resort and used sparingly to treat a bona-fide disorder.

Yeah for me it's not an option and I have other methods of coping.

It's funny I turn on the news and all I hear about is mental health and young people and disorders. What was I watching the other day? It was some blues guitar Zoomer talking about how his record is about mental health? Lol, just, lol. Imagine Robert Johnson or BB King being like my new song is about anxiety.

In a twist the blues has always been about depression and sadness and mental trouble, hence its namesake. But it dealt with it ina different way. It was either a mournful lament about tough times or it was about contracting with demons to become good at guitar. But there's a big difference between BB King talking about how he's sad because he has a million kids and his wife is materialistic and some Zoomer singing about having anxiety and being over medicated.

Whenever I hear about mental health now in all honesty I tune the fuck out. I'm not making light of it, I know it's real. My heart genuinely goes out to young people who are lost. But imo if you're sad your problem is you don't have enough real problems. And by real I mean you should be worried about career advancement, investing, real estate, finding a suitable partner for marriage and kids. Go hunting or something. Go fishing. Go do something real. Delete social media. But the way young people sit around and stew about themselves is repulsive. I can't listen to it anymore it's so played out. Never ending feeling sorry for yourself sucks! It's a whole generation that was never taught to have a stiff upper lip.

I have just received a revelation from God that a comet is passing by the Earth and will be at the closest point in exactly nine days. The only hope for mankind to escape this communist-poisoned, Jew-controlled planet is to board the comet and ride it to Heaven where we will spend eternity in God’s merciful presence. I’m sure you can guess the rather conventional procedure to board the comet. The challenge is how to share the message and convince as many of the RIGHT people as possible. No one wants to ride a comet to Valhalla with a bunch of stinky nignogs. Asians are OK as long as they are thin and quiet and less than 15% of the total. Thank you for your consideration.
