If they saw you passively on some internet site advertising services and emailed you first then that’s them reaching in. It’s not necessarily dispositive either way but you’re better off with the latter.
Again, I’d just file suit and mention why jurisdiction is proper. |

Everything happened in my state ( not California). I argued jurisdiction under some contract theory — and the local judge felt sorry for the dumb chick and gave us judgment.
It was like 20 years ago so I can’t remember the details but the fortune teller kept telling this dumb Filipina chick that there was a curse on the Chick that the fortune teller would remove. |
