He also went to the next level where he also changed the culture and redefined how the average person, especially the average guy under 40, thinks about combat sports and really combat, violence and toughness more fundamentally. All that said, he seems like a douche and he would have never been anything if his rich buddy hadn’t given him blank checks for like 15 years. He takes credit for tons of stuff that never would’ve happened without the Fertittas and that were likely the product of their involvement in the business. for example on lex fridman's podcast he talks about how the announcer for tyson's comeback fight just totally shat all over tyson talking about the court case and prison etc, right as tyson is walking out to go into literal human combat
it pissed him off something awful and although we all heard the same thing he had the vision that if he were ever involved in combat sports he would forbid the announcers from shitting on the fighters no matter what. and this was 6 years before they even bought UFC |

All the early deals where UFC gets onto third tier cable and then slowly increases its visibility and profile for both the actual events and all the reality show content would have never happened without them, their family and the connections they had in their network to get those deals. White gets to pretend he’s the CEO because they don’t want to be in the spotlight, but in reality he’s more like a Chief Product Officer or Chief Creative Officer. Though he deserves additional credit for having most of the big picture vision worked out himself and selling it to the Ferittas.
