Yes, you throw OC off his game. Yes, you signal that youre going to fight everything to the death.
But you can also lose jurors very quickly doing this. Slows everything down to a crawl and you look like an asshole. Gamble is whether the jurors *want* you to be *their* asshole, or they just want to hear the lawyer speak.
I personally wouldnt do it. Use your own opening to take your shots. And ofc at closing tear into the shit they promised during opening |

I sometimes think jumping in to object is just Streisanding the comment. 12 people wake up to think about the last statement uttered, which had previously slipped through their ears.
And as i wrote, theyre forming an impression of you too. You appear to be trying to not let them hear things, afraid of things, etc.
