as to 1), the general college educated public isnt gonna give a fuck and only academic pinheads will see it as a big deal. i suspect most professors are recycling their same garbage over and over again for their entire careers.
as to 2), it's certainly a bigger deal than 1), but i suspect people wont be as concerned because the co-author still got the credit at least one time, rather than not at all. screwing ur co-author just isnt going to shock the conscience of the general public as much as stealing entire paragrahs that arent yours at all. one's a shitty thing to do, and the other makes you seem like a total fraud (like gay) |
