One thing to take note of is that in Thailand the military is seen as a cleansing force. Every time they experiment with democracy, they WHOOPS get the richest guy in the country as POTUS. Then shit gets all corrupt and people get pissed, then the military overthrows the government for a few years before elections are held again.
