The tech giant announced in its third-quarter earnings that Xbox Series X and S revenue is down 30 percent year-over-year. It blamed the nosedive on a “lower volume of consoles sold” during the start of 2024. If that sounds like a repeat of last year, it’s because it is. “Xbox hardware revenue decreased 30% on a strong prior year comparable, driven by lower volume of consoles sold,” Microsoft reported back in April 2023. |

As if having a huge Xbox install base wouldn't be fuckin' amazing when it comes to selling Gamepass. I hate it. my pc is more powerful than a ps5. I'm a diehard ff7 fan, was my first jrpg bought a ps5 (used) for 400 just to play that, picked this up since it's also an exclusive. Would have preferred to play both titles on my PC. The ps5 feels like a burden, not a good thing. because any game that comes out on ps5 and steam, i will always get it on steam.
Waste of money to have to buy a console for just a few games.
And considering that my PC is more powerful than ps5 were these available on steam, they'd look better, play better, at a higher res with higher refresh rate. The console itself is a bottle neck holding the game back. |

The plan was to actually sell some consoles or get some gamepass subs. Why would a PC player subscribe to gamepass? PC gaming is deliberate, and often involves Engineering or at least the use of scripts or Console commands. PC gamers do not "passively" play something like L.A. Noir or Project Gotham Racing for 25 minutes and then never again like a Gamepass player. They play games that involve optimization and require the use of Scripts/Macros which press several buttons in sequence to get their buffs in place or what have you.
