this would have been an absurd question just 20 years ago, after the US knocked over iraq, but it's much more interesting today. everyone seems to agree that the country is not even socially-capable of conducting a draft without ripping itself apart, which means that a major conflict would mostly have to be fought by the existing forces along with whatever volunteers can be found. how would that go in practice?

We'd actually destroy China faster than 60 days. They have exactly 1 aircraft carrier capable of catapulting planes. 1.

Their air force is a joke compared to ours and we'd blitz them just like in Iraq.

No. Read the news. The US still does huge deployments on a moment's notice all over the world. The only difference most of the time nobody has cause to shoot anybody. But it still does it all the time and it does it really well. It makes a habit of setting deadlines months in advance and meeting them to the hour and minute. They time their activities to the minute and second and report on that shit sometimes. You just don't know about that shit because they don't talk too much and never brag, and you're too lazy to read the news.

it's both, we clearly do not have the capacity to produce the ordinance necessary to sustain a real war and without a major turn to a wartime footing as in wwii I don't see how that changes, we can bomb anything a few times at will, but we couldn't invade europe right now without being out of shit in two weeks

The USA doesn't need that shit. Only apes have to worry about shootouts with howitzers. Fuck Europe or any of these other countries. One of the worst aspects of this war has been the brainwashing of America into thinking it needs to make more 155mm shells ASAP. It's bullshit. Other countries need to make that shit, not us.

No. Remember 2001, when the US first started the Great Kike Crusade post-fresh 9/11?

US had an arsenal that was still in Cold War mode. Air Force still used fucking high-level B-52 bombers (the same ones that also house nukes) for *tactical* bomb strikes against hajjis. F-22 Raptors, and massive inventory of fresh B-1 and B-2 bombers. Pretty much whatever they wanted. The Marines still operated as an expeditionary unit so they had tanks, like actual tanks and dedicated fighter-bombers in addition to the Navy's. Navy had enough cruise missiles to saturate bomb Afghanistan to literally turn the whole country into solid glass. The Army had, not just companies but full Cav Scout battalions of M1 Abrams tanks and Apaches, and enough logistics to fuel 4 different geographic fronts simultaneously. It was full of highly motivated, clean-cut and fratty af red-blooded All-American white bros that weren't addicted to painkillers and just banging sorority whores from Girls Gone Wild™ when not overseas with an active duty force alone at the time more than triple today our entire combined active, reserve, *and* nat'l guard units.

Today. Army now operates with clitdicked BCTs ("Brigade Combat Teams", marketed as counter-terror/insurgency specialized) as their main standard unit of advance because there's no inventory or manpower, which are neutered down versions of even a 90's era mechanized infantry company. Army went even more backwards and introduced a "light tank" that is basically an updated Stryker MGS and just more kike pork money for the defense industry. Then, there's the F-35 project -- which is probably the kikeiest fucking weapons platform ever conceived in the defense industry or in the history of warfare. The money spent on it basically was like funding an Apollo mission except instead of going to the Moon, we just made kikes rub their hands even faster for more goybucks to throw into it only for it to be even shittier (like scrapping universal VTOL and instead having an outsourced Sysco Slop engine that literally makes it run slower than a F-4 Phantom) and more expensive. Marines are now basically "Army Lite" while trying to market themselves as more "high speed" by strapping themselves with super special forces FAST helmets and procuring another overpriced kike pork project i.e. the M27 as the new main "service rifle", which are literally just rejected HK416's from production floors. Navy flunked as well just like with the F-35 from the clitdicked "littoral combat ship" project that never made it to pre-production but of course, just made kikes rub their hands even faster for more goybucks. Lastly, the entire US military now consists of either an overfunded and bloated "special forces" apparatus that doesn't do jack shit -- otherwise, completely disjointed and disparate Frankenstein parody of weird muds, birdbrains and trannies and other incompetents/invalids crashing multimillion planes straight into the sea, no inventory or logistics, and is essentially just a food stamps program for double digit IQ mud people from Guatamala or New Mexico.

To be fair,

When (((9/11))) happened, essentially every single American felt compassion / sadness / rage or some combination thereof. Of course, back then, essentially no sane people were predicting that anyone alive in America would ever live through a 2nd civil war — and there was no media coverage of the incredibly remote possibility that “the unthinkable” would ever happen again.

If another major (((terrorist incident))) that killed thousands of Americans on domestic soil were to happen tomorrow, a huge % of the country would laugh / cheer / jeer / claim it was false flag or some combination thereof. We all know that’s true. But then again, that’s not super shocking when you step back and consider that polls now regularly indicate that 40-50% of Americans believe it is at least somewhat likely that we will see a 2nd civil war break out within the next few decades, one of the most popular movies out right now is about Civil War II, and “respectable” mainstream media outlets are now regularly running stories wringing their hands about “deeply concerning” public sentiment on that front.

Extrapolate from those data points however you see fit vis a vis the OP.

PS: The shift we have seen in the last quarter century is 10000% attributable to Jews and Jewish Power in America. Great job, kikes. Hope this all works out well for you — and your beloved Israel — in the decades to come. ;)

I'm not against that at all but there's zero chance of any fight with Israel turning into a test of this point. Israel is 100% dependent on US support to fight anyone so if they fought the US they would lose very quickly. This is an army that can't take Gaza after however many months.

"America" - this doesn't mean anything anymore. You have red and blue states that have no common values and don't even desire the same things. People have no common ancestry, religion, values or even language. All of our wars are halfway around the world. This doesn't create the fundamentals for a united, patriotic nation.

This is the only relevant point but this hits the nail on the head. The question is about a high intensity war where lots of Americans die. Not some war on some people 100 years behind in tech where we can drone them with impunity.

It would be easy as fuck. The logistics of deployment are one of the things we KNOW are military does better than any other military on earth. If we actually wanted to put boots on the ground, we could do it faster and better than Russia did it, even though Russia is right there. Are fortifications would be better. Are troops would be better protected the entire time. If Russia tried to push it would be highway of death every day. Everyone knows it's true.

If you're asking yourself whether we would "win," that's not a military question, it's a political one. If wars are decided based on who brings more military force into theater, then we won Vietnam, no question. It was over after the Tet Offensive.

The US has no medium or short range air defense worth a shit and almost no long range SAMs. The Patriot inventory is laughably small and 1/8th the size of the Russian SAM umbrella. Good luck protecting anything against FPV drones with no SHORAD. They blew 70k Stingers in Ukraine. The US has 30k left.

The US manufactures 500 Patriot interceptors per year. The Iranians made you spend 300 missiles in one evening. The Iranians have at least 5000 MRBMs and 13000 SRBMs. Both Iran and Russia alone can force you to spend all your SAMs in about a week of fighting. There is no way to replenish the supply. Meanwhile Russia makes more SAMs in one month than the US makes in two years. Keep talking. The shorter range stuff like NASAM and IRIS-T is not survivable at all. The Russians blew up all these systems basically as soon as they were deployed. A simple Twitter search will show that the Russians have published videos of over 1500 Lancet strikes. Lancet is a SAM killer. With its over 70km range it is obliterating all the Eurosams as fast as they are built. This is not a war the US is winning absent massive WW2 level mobilization. Not in Iran and definitely not in Russia.

Here's another reason it would be easy as fuck: no one has secure comms. Russia STILL doesn't have secure comms 2 years into the war. The reason we were able to time the invasion is because we broke their BRAND NEW "secure" comms network and forced them to switch to analog. They've been on analog ever since.

The way Russia overcame this was to stop talking. Units were sent into the field with more autonomy so they didn't have to talk on the radio. Russia is still doing that. How the fuck would Russia gear up for any deployment where it has to assume from the outset that the US can hear everything? EAT SHIT, that's how.

We predicted BOTH Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Iran's attack on Israel to within a 2-hour timeframe, two years apart. EAT SHIT.

You aren't getting real time data from a satellite on a fixed orbit. You're lucky if you're getting it every 48 hours. Once a week would be impressive for North Korea trying to look at any part of the earth with any frequency.

DragonBear collectively has obscene capability. Russia may have some gaping holes in coverage a the sub meter resolution point (none at crappier resolutions) but Russia and China collectively are taking pics of everywhere all the time. The US even more so.

Of course you can get high res pics and more. The question is how long it takes a satellite hovering that close to earth to pass over the tiny patch of land you're trying to monitor. Some of these satellites might cover a path of land with super high resolution, but only once every six months. There's a trade-off between resolution and other factors, just like when put a 200x telephoto lens on a camera. If you want a satellite to whip around the earth fast enough to photograph an airfield every 24 hours, that's going to limit your ability to get clear pics, because you're zoomed in AND moving fast as fuck.

What actually happened is the Russians didn’t tell their invading forces that the invasion was real. They thought it was a training exercise until the last minute so nobody turned on the encrypted radios. This is well documented. It’s actual work to turn on secured comms. The troops on maneuvers had no clue. It was very stupidly done. Since that first month there have been basically zero open comm intercepts. The Hahols have stopped even releasing fake ones.

Brother it was pretty obvious for the first two weeks of the war that the US military had better eyes on Russian units than the Russian government. Once those convoys were out of range from Russian cell towers, they could go dark and Russian commanders didn't know it was because of a comms blackout or because the whole convoy got smoked. Days later we would release pics of the smoked convoys with everything pixelated. Nothing burning at all, everything looted, no sign of what happened to troops who survived. When you have a monopoly on information, you have everything.

If it was something easy and succinct like wars were supposed to be, like destroy the enemy army and topple the government and then leave, then sure. Like gulf war or iraq 2003 when they just toppled the govt. they should have left and quit at that point. The whole idea of wasting 20 years “nation building” in backwards third world shitholes that will never change or respond to our efforts is stupid and one of the biggest foreign policy failures in the post WWII period. I dont think we have ever done is successfully once.

To be fair,

"How about you guys spend stay home and eat hotchip for a year while you play with ur phone and the govt sends you free money to spend" isn't quite the same thing as "OK kids, time for basic training so you can learn to die for Israel in a far away desert shithole" IMO AFAIK

There is a massive and hilarious gulf between Boomers/youngs on foreign policy

america's overwhelmingly white boomer overclass is entirely willing to send younger americans to die in a new round of wars, but the youngs themselves are massively opposed, in addition to being way more nonwhite.

we're going to reach a moment when the boomer/older x'er leaders of the US try to use the military in a substantial way, and ram right into the buzzsaw of demographic change and what it really means in hard material terms. this has never yet been faced; only theorized.

We passed that point in 2021. The military had this conversation when it pulled out Afghanistan. It didn't ask anyone's permission to do that and it didn't give a FUCK what anyone thought about it. Nothing has changed since then, it just that people are noticing more and more that phone calls to State Department don't get returned. The US military is moving troops out of here and over there, and no one will tell you why.

I heard that BHO let our military power deplete to almost nothing, but then Trump made it more powerful than anyone has ever seen, but now Biden has depleted it so that it’s weaker than anyone has ever seen, but thankfully Trump has a plan to make us stronger than we’ve ever been.. Can any Trumpmos confirm?

The rest of the world just got weak. That's what happens when you don't fight. You end up with no vets, just a bunch old women calling the shots. See e.g. Europe. China also can't fight for shit and Iran...ljl. We got doods who have seen action.
