Kharkov would no doubt be rendered a Mariupol-style pile of rubble by any fighting so I don't regard it as being worth much once evacuated. A part of Kiev is E. of the Dnepr, btw. Once reached the rest of Kiev will be in Russian artillery range. Ukraine could concentrate forces there, however, in the hopes of keeping the situation under control. However, the city would still be dealing with daily bombardment which would make it largely unlivable, which isn't true today.
Odessa is more isolated and you can't bomb it from the E. side of the Dnepr, but is going to be less defended.
Basically, once that collapse happens we'll have a very interesting period while we wait for Russia's next move. |
