I got scammed because I really got addicted to the application. Most of the sellers that I bought from are actually 100% above board and send to you what you ordered. So it's not really a scam, it's buyers remorse.
I also bought from this one scammer. They send you shit, but it's not the shit that you ordered. It's incredibly hard to prove. I also went and looked up their names in public data bases for the counties where they live and they have both been arrest and charged multiple times with theft crimes. So it's really not surprising. None of this is disclosed on Whatnot though.
Whatnot doesn't care about scammers using its platform (which seems to be dying).
The local police do not seem to care about scams running by known theifs (too hard to prove I guess).
So now I'm looking at a civil remedy and I don't know if its worth it to file a lawsuit against them. I may just cut my losses and go about my way.
My advice is to never use the app and expect to be scammed by online auctions. I had a bad experience from one seller.
