I went and they presented me with a "treatment plan" for almost $15k that included like eight visits. Got a second opinion from another dentist who said that most of that stuff was unnecessary.

i've had extensive dental work over the years since i was a kid, and things have only gotten easier and more pussified. when i was young, they'd just jam the needles in your mouth and not worry too much if the anesthetic wasn't effective. now, they use topical numbing creams to remove sensation at the injection sites and have blankets and goggles and all kinds of other silly shit. dentistry has gotten soft.
