The main selling point is security, really. The features it offers aren't anything Google or Anthropic can't offer, but those companies can't offer reassurance that your data will be protected, only contractual guarantees that are worth nothing. Harvey also offers contractual guarantees, they're just more likely to win trust from lawyers because that's their entire customer base. If Gemini fucks up some important legal matter, Google doesn't give a fuck, and everyone else will just mock you for using Gemini to write briefs. Harvey gives you the ability to say "hey, I used Harvey" if shit hits the fan.

But more to the point, Harvey is shit that most law firms won't touch. For starters it can't do what it promises to do without becoming wildly expensive for small and midsize firms. I doubt they have any plan to control costs going forward either. No one does except me. It also can't perform better than whatever cloud model it uses on the back end (it's probably ChatGPT)
