Some of these places are really selective and include multiple rounds of interviews, minimum net worth requirements, and an initial investment that can exceed 200k. Opening a McDonald's costs over a million.

Friend owns seven subways and is printing cash. People cannot get enough of the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki served on piping how fresh baked bread.

A franchise only makes sense when you’re getting like 10 of them, the constant upgrades, remodeling etc really cuts into the bottom line. Almost all of them run on neverending debt and might make you 100k in a good year

they usually have liquidity and asset requirements, better franchises chains have previous ownership/experience screening, and they have to vet your proposed market and real estate. many people who get into franchise ownership get brought in by family or other insider circumstances. it’s difficult to break into and also frequently overrated. XO loves to hold forth on how fast food franchising is a free money press but they’re speaking from ignorance, as usual. if you’re in a position to open a qdoba or whatever in a good market, then your resources can probably be better utilized elsewhere with less effort.
