Peter: What if we're still doing this when we're 50?
Sameer: It'd be nice to have that kind of job security.
Peter: Lumbergh's going to have me work on Saturday. I can tell already. And I'm going to end up doing it because I'm a big pussy. Which is why I work at Initech to begin with.
. . . [dialogue introduces plot themes]
Peter: I'm going to see this occupational hypno-therapist with Ann. . . . You know sometimes I get thinking that she's cheating on me . . .
Peter: I think that the guy might actually be able to help. I mean he did help Ann lose weight.
Sameer: Peter, she's anorexic.
Peter: Yeah, I know, the guy's really good.
In this one scene, we are introduced to the toxcitiy of Amerikkka. 1. The obsession with conformity and job security and "working until we're 50"; 2. Profound displeasure with life; 3. The idea that some quack "doctor" can just fix us by creating other medical conditions that will dull the pain of everyday life.
