i have the space for a modest size pool house. have about 1/4 of an acre in the backyward to work with

Assuming you have space for a nice pool, and the money to afford one, why not build out a little casita by the pool? You could have an indoor, outdoor seating/lounge area, bathroom/shower, wet sauna/dry sauna/cold plunge, and maybe a little in-law suite above all of that so there’s a place for guests to stay with a little more privacy.
