CSR $760K

Amex was only about 4800.

If you have a CSR you can go into statements and "spending summary". from there you can see how much you spent in total in 2023

I get that from my boundless too. It also gives me an elite night per $5k spend and a free night at 35k points max. If I got the brilliant it would still make sense to keep it. I'd basically be getting it for the auto platinum status. Lounge access would occasionally be nice too but priority pass sucks how. Nothing in Newark or Reagan these days.

For me the killer feature is 4pm late checkout. That means that on the day of checkout I can do meetings and then go back to the hotel, shower, change and chill before heading to the airport. That alone means that I must maintain platinum no matter what.

Keep in mind that I'm not staying at elite properties and this is mainly for work so your priorities are going to be different.

that's nice that you support your parents. your girlfriend should not be a big spend, what are you throwing fancy watches and cars at her, are you paying her rent and gave her your credit card to spend? some travel with her, a little present here and there and nice meals and wine is really not much money at all

credit card is just discretionary spending + the regular bills (phone, electric, etc). no tax payments, rent, school fees, nanny, anything like that.

if you had an ounce of introspection you would be deeply ashamed of your behavior. instead it manifests in your feud with benzo, showing that you consider benzo on your level (which is *true*)

Still, it's surprising. People must be making $5+ million a year to be spending like this. That's a ton

We spent 5% of gross HHI on credit card spending, and that included plenty of going out, international trips, etc. I have no idea wtf these people are doing. Or maybe it's all flame.

6pts/$1 spend on Bonvoy, 20 elite night credits, 85k night cert/year. I have this and the biz Bonvoy. Let’s me start every year with 40 night credits. Way easier to retain Ambassador since they make you hit 100 “nights” not just hit the spend.

Bevy seemed like the worst deal to me. You only get Gold status and 15 elite nights, and no extra nights based on spend. Instead, you have to spend $15k to even get the free night, which is automatic on the other cards. And it is a $250 annual fee which isn't small. Boundless is $95, includes Silver but auto Gold after 35k spend, and you get 1 free elite night every $5k spend. Also, the Brilliant gives you $25/month back in restaurant spend so it ends up being only an extra $100 to get 10 extra nights, platinum elite status, priority pass lounge access, etc. Seems like a no-brainer.

JFC. I'm starting to understand all the poasters who complain that they are broke despite $600k HHI's. I don't understand how the fuck people spend that much money. I use like 5-6 different cards to min/max rewards, but most months I spend around $3k-$4k on my main card and probably around $1k combined on the others. And 90% of that is my wife. If I were single I'd probably spend like $400-$500 per month on groceries and maybe another $100 on video games. I literally can't think of anything else I would want to spend money on other than maybe whores.
