enjoy your time with current vehicle. In 8 years, car prices will drop to $10,000, but you will need a monthly subscription to drive, new $6500 battery after 5 years/50K miles in addition to insurance, regular maintenance (or all warranties are void), new tires that can only be inflated at a dealership, and electricity to charge. You will never stop paying. And every year, a new version will come out and you will want it, and your $10K car of 3 years will now be worth $1438.63, but the dealer will throw some goodies into your new car like heated rearview mirror or dash mounted mini vacuum to remove fastfood crumbs, or "Driver Assist" which notifies you of other cars in your lane up to 30 feet away. Or app-controlled driver seat lumbar support, but that would cost extra. And of course, a heated cup holder for those chilly morning drives to work because no one owns insulated Yeti mugs or whatever and you need this.

i bought a 2021 Tesla Model 3 with 10k miles for $20k cash. It's absurd how cheap "driving" can be.
I also have a 2022 G63 (paid off)

Im still scratching my head why idiots mention cash for clunkers when the supposed mpg requirement was lower than most any fuel injected non-truck could manage. This is something to bring up among the Dodge D-150 fandom or something, not for Cars writ large.
Not to mention it was hundreds of thousands of vehicles crushed, not millions
The actual real thing that change is that that GM and Chrysler went bankrupt and reorganized. Union contracts mandated that they overproduce millions of Saturn/Buick/Oldsmobile/Dodge/Plymouth/Pontiac shitmobiles to soak up prole demand. 90s proles drove a car for like 5 years. 3 years before NAFTA.
