Anti-gun activists love to use the “3 casualties” rule for mass shootings to juice the number of mass shootings up, but then people point out they are basically all gang-related shootings done by black people. So, they tighten up the definitions of mass shooting and loop white and Hispanic together and widen the window of mass shootings counted to include all the way back to WWII when the demographic balance of the country was different, etc., and before you know it you’ve got a million different versions of the same statistic that you can select from to best support whatever nonsense argument you’re going to make. |
