Also, make sure you're at least 4 miles from shore.
The problem with the first two options is that murder is really difficult to pull off. You'll be spotted on camera or caught in a lie, and the noose tightens from there. Imo, the best plan is to avoid putting yourself in a situation where you have to lie about anything they can disprove. The best lies always stay as close to the truth as possible, and so do the best murders. Engineer a situation where it's your word against his, and he's dead.
