Sega wasn't ready for the 32x that's why its games were so shitty.

32x was a stopgap measure that Sega used to try to catch up with N64 until Sega Saturn was ready.

I loved Sega, but there was nothing in its lineup that could compare to Super Mario World or Donkey Kong Country in terms of graphics.

super mario world has primitive as fuck graphics and looks much worse than sonic. the SNES graphics hardware was more powerful but that didn't mean much when you had to squeeze a whole game into a half-megabyte, which the genesis was better at doing. DKC was four megabytes which is why it looks as good as it does.

There was a whole Sega gen where every game had photo realistic graphics and M rated blood and gore. And then everything abruptly became the 3d polygonal shit that gave me a headache and turned me off to the console.
