He's a kindly, portly Englishman who loves paradox and allegory and the fantastic (and is, in fact, a part of the fantastic himself)

Would you still respect me if I downloaded it in audiobook form this very day? Audiobooks are easier when lacking in opposable thumbs, to be honest with you. 🐾

Of course although the artwork of the comics is a large portion of the appeal (even if dogs don't see color that well)

🤯🤯🤯

I forgot about the artwork part - still have many fond memories of Calvin and Hobbes in both color and black in white (I was a lowly hue-man in a past life; recently got promoted to a glamorous Asian hiking girlfriend’s pampered golden retriever, just in the interest of full disclosure not intending to brag)

Would this be overwhelming for someone who has only experienced comics of the Calvin and Hobbes variety? A lot of comics I’ve seen confuse me with the format (confused about what to read first etc.), but then again I might be gay and/or retarded IRL in addition to while experiencing computers

Not flame there's an annotated Sandman that explains a bunch of this stuff but it is a bit overwhelming/rich with references etc.

Anyway I'm not a huge Gaiman fan but when he's good, he's good, and his run on Sandman is some of the most impressive horror/fantasy work in graphical form of the 20th century (much more fantasy than horror, although the horrific is certainly present)

180!

Unironically sounds terrific: the genre combination you describe, especially - and even the notion of overwhelmingly rich with references that I don’t fully get, done for the purposes of an earnestly-told adventure, sounds intriguing (I’m gay) 🦋🌈🐛

it's very very good unironically

i'm not a huge comics person or a gaiman person (although in both cases more due to the fanbases than the intrinsic merits of the work) but it's good

your library probably has some of it

This intriguing description of yours is making me think of the incredibly gorgeous Rebuild of Evangelion conclusion - have I mentioned that I’m gay ITT? I can’t remember 🐶
