Indian doctor jailed for raping patients

Former MD Dipak Shanmugham was convicted of 70 counts of rape and sexual assault. He was also convicted of 82 counts of abusing his position as a doctor.
Nearly all of the offences took place during medical examinations that Shanmugham carried out on his patients while he worked as a physician in the small town of Frosta - a tiny community of fewer than 3,000 residents, near Florida on the gulf coast of Alabama.
Shanmugham was also banned from practicing medicine and ordered to pay compensation.

Former MD Amandeep Subramanian, who immigrated from India, was convicted of 70 counts of rape and sexual assault. He was also convicted of 82 counts of abusing his position as a doctor.
Nearly all of the offences took place during medical examinations that Dr Amandeep carried out on his patients while he worked as a physician in the small town of Esterhazel, a tiny community of fewer than 2000 residents, near the Canadian boarder. He is also banned from practicing medicine and ordered to pay compensation to all his victims.
