After a bit of a stall a week ago, I am down to 213 lbs. I was around 275 last winter, and around 250 right before I started a GLP-1 in late March. I have lost 37lbs since - about 29 lbs of fat and 8 lbs of muscle based on the scan I had recently. Based on my workout and diet schedule, I will be below 210 next Saturday and should close in on what they call "Onederland" (199 or below) by mid to late September.

After I hit 199, I need to recalibrate my year end goal. In my original post I said 185 by year end. Easily achievable on these drugs. I may not want to get that low by that time - I could recalibrate my training to build more muscle and lose more slowly, with the goal to gain muscle and be around 190 by year end.

If you are overweight and have at least one comorbity (even just high blood pressure), insurance has to cover Ozempic/Mounjaro/Zepbound/Wegovy/whatever for life.

I haven't cut out alcohol to the degree most do when they do these cuts - that is probably the main difference. I plan to cut it significantly in September to push for 199.

I consume 0 alcohol but wouldn't that just go into your overall calorie count anyway?

- Sex is a few times week (wish it were more obviously, but we are 40+). No real difference besides the fact my dick is a bit bigger as I have lost some pelvic fat. My wife likes the difference

- My energy level was lower initially, but is now growing as I lose more weight and require less calories to maintain the same energy. Early on I could do little more than work out, but now I have more energy. I am thinking about adding protein shakes and creatine as I get closer to my target weight - both of which should help with energy. I’m also drinking more coffee

- I’m not gaunt at all because I was (and frankly still am) a fat dude. I had fat to lose. My face looks dramatically better right now. Even at my higher weight I had a history of lifting - remember that fat dudes that go into a caloric deficit and lift while losing weight usually don’t have these “gaunt” issues as they have a lot of energy stored on their body to begin with. Being gaunt is an issue for 120 lbs housewives who take it trying to lose an extra five pounds.
