iirc for Mormons the fatwa isn't on caffeine but on "hot beverages" or something equally inane, likely cooked up on the trail to save J. Smith a couple ledger entries on the trail west

I think Provo is the big conservative Mormon place and SLC is more like Romney cafeteria style Mormonism

SLC is also bizarrely clean with lots of friendly people iirc

SLC is generally clean but has one glaring issue: horrible air quality. The city is surrounded by mountains, which traps all the smog/pollution/etc. in the city. When I visited SLC, I drove down to Bryce Canyon one weekend. On the drive back, I thought something was wrong with my car as I entered SLC because it started to smell so bad. Turns out that's just what stale smog smells like.
