It's for people who like clicky mechanical buttons that you have to try a lot harder to push. I don't like them. It's too much effort. And I don't love the loud banging sounds. I think it's some kind of hipster forcememe. It's like owning vinyl records or something. It's hip to have one so you can talk about it at dinner parties. It's very DINK-y like you never had children but you bought a bunch of expensive Lego sets and your keyboard makes a loud jangle and is kind of hard to push the keys.
I had Cherry MX Red mechanical but changed to the Logitech and never looked back. Now I 100% never think about my keyboard and it's Fine. Mechanical seems like a solution in search of a problem. |

I also have a cheap keychron one for when I worked in an office. I much prefer them to my MacBook keyboard, but it doesn't make sense to use them with a laptop, only a desktop
I don't understand the need for anything but red switches, maybe they're for people who used to use typewriters or really funky old keyboards |
