Melissa Villasenor is the first Latina in the shows history, Michael Che is the first POC to be head writer for the show. Leslie Jones is killin it as always, but I can feel her breaking off from the show soon just to pursue movies and tv.
The show has a long way to go to be more inclusive, most def, but I think they're finally seeing that in 2018, the more diverse the cast, the better the sketches. Its not just white people watching anymore, so we shouldnt just be watching white people anymore either.
Some Asian comedians/writers sure would be nice. Kumail Nanjiani or Charlyne Yi would bring so much. Heres to the future of comedy being a little more colorful. |

Not that I blame them. Villasenor is in 1 sketch every 3-4 episodes and is usually terrible and Leslie Jones is the dumbest SJW forcememe ever. Leslie Jones is like watching Charles Barkley host--blatantly reading off the cards in a 5th grade reading level monotone that washes out the jokes. Recycling the same schtick over and over again of her yelling "dat too many lettuce" about nothing and it's supposed to be funny. Meanwhile, the best cast member by far for years has been actual, professional comedic actor Kenan Thompson, but I guess he's too much of a cornball brother to get any wokefolks excited. this guy makes a great point. I can't say if it's correlation or mere causation but more diversity simply equals more laughs. Seinfeld, Frasier, Friends, Curb Your Enthusiasm... imagine how much funnier these shows could've been if they were more inclusive |
