Starting to think there's at least some chance a deal will happen. Not likely, but not as impossible as it seemed til now. If Russia just expects Ukraine to hand over the Donbas then that won't happen. But it sounds like they are talking about giving some back (Ukraine badly wants its nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia back), which makes a deal seem feasible depending on the details. |

And however much Trump might like to box Europe out, they are a lot bigger player in the war than the US is now. They are giving a lot more money to Ukraine than we are now, and their sanctions bite a lot harder since Russia wasn't doing a lot of business with us anyway.
