Mine is 15 years old. Hardly took care of it after the first 5 years. Finally starting to fail. Not sure if I should put 10k into it to keep it to retirement in a few years or let it die and replace it

DECADENT OR SHREWD?

Goddamn, that's pretty impressive even for a secondary vehicle

And that's the "problem" for me...my car is great to drive, there hasn't been any new technology that makes me want a new one, and they're expensive as fuck now

Plus, not giving a fuck what happens to it is kind of liberating

I daily drive a 200 series land cruiser and have a 2007 100 series that my teenager drives and that serves as the biking, camping, and utility truck.

I drive a 12yo audi suv from back when you could get them with superchargers. Really like it and will just drive it until it explodes. My “secondary” car is a 97 wrangler on 35s that is just plain unsafe. I drove it to my first bench trial and my ass was visibly wet from sweating in the vinyl seats. Kind of just a toy now

Jeeps are kind of special tbh. The older ones still had that military DNA that let them chew through grueling shit and keep coming for more. I've heard that DNA was sacrified in the 2000s to the god of profits and losses

Fucking V8s for the win. That's another thing that has held me back from getting a new car. Most are V6 with turbos and shit. I like naturally aspirated V8s, but V8s of all types have gotten scarce

Goddamn, now that's fucking impressive. I've had to do the timing belt once, and an alternator. Oh, just put in my second replacement battery too. I felt good about that, but you've got 10 years on me and have done less
