Senior year, me and another guy were competing to take the head cheerleader to prom. During our prom interviews she asked about our recent gaming accomplishments. He said "I played Super Mario 64 I guess." I laid out a spectacular array of titles - Crash Bandicoot, Digimon World, Final Fantasy, Twisted Metal. All storied franchises with sequels on the PS1. At points she would ask if such franchises were the prime representatives of their genre, then I would regale her with more tales of games that fit every niche of every genre.
I don't have to tell you how this story ends. Let's just say the fruit punch at prom was delicious.
