Yes but don’t use the mutual fund. Use the ETF versions of the same funds. Slight tax benefits because the ETFs don’t have to redeem folks out at NAV in cash, requiring securities sales, and triggering a little more cap gain to you.

Tons of veteran stock market experts say we're in the late stages of a bubble that is destined to crash. Risky point to enter into the market, but, on the other hand, they've been saying that for years now and it's kept going up. So feel free to go with Vanguard, but don't kid yourself that serious risk isn't involved at this point.

That’s true but it depends some on time horizon. If you invested at the peaks in 1987, 1990, 2000, 2007, you’d still be way up now. Hard to perfectly time investing at each trough.

That's possible, since the current bubble isn't based on productivity or America making good products (lol) but on Fed bullshit, huge deficit spending by Congress, and this whole "meme" outlook on stocks that has made a lot of investors think reality, profits, etc don't matter anymore. Fundamentals will always matter in the long run, since a stock is basically nothing more than the present value of the future profits of a company.

LJL at hiring a fucking wealth manager.

You should have been putting it in the market slowly over time.

Put $100k of it in stable coins earning a guaranteed 9% / year on Blockfi.

Put the rest into a boring low fee Sp500 ETF in weekly chunks over the course of a year.

cr just do invest in bonds at a time when most bonds are selling for way over face value and also yielding negative returns when adjusted for inflation. what could go wrong

also just do pay 10-20x the expense ratio that you'd pay by just investing in a vanilla ETF

might as well just hold it in cash given how gay bonds are right now and given that they can still lose value but cash can't. also bonds have been gay for the past 10 years. you would've lost like 20% of the value of your investment in real terms over that period investing in bonds.

in any event, a target fund for a young won't have very much money in bonds at the moment. so why not just invest in an equivalent ETF, then move some money slowly to a bond ETF yourself in 10 years if you're going to be a bond fag?

ljl as i said ppl have been "predicting" its OVER for years now, i just learned to not pay attention, at BEST you can maybe time the market for 2-3% pullbacks and then buy but thinking u can time it for a 30%+ pullback is just foolish cause no one has a clue when that will happen, we just had a pretty decent pullback, its actually quite likely they'll be a solid run for a couple months

Insiders haven't been selling stocks at record levels for years now. Why do you think it's smart to buy stocks of a company whose CEO is selling it?

Just to be clear, your approach could well turn out to be profitable. None of us truly knows, but the risk-reward ratio doesn't seem favorable to me now. At a bare minimum, by being in cash I buy myself the freedom from having to follow this stuff - I can turn my thoughts to more worthwhile matters.

I think a lot of the selling is insiders locking in capital gains before any potential tax hikes by Biden next year.

Stock comp and options have gotten really popular since ITE, so I would expect insider selling to trend up over time as well

lots of insider selling is more in response to Democrt tax policy for 2022 and less about some faggot CEO knowing which direction the broad market is going

faggot ceos also don't want to pay more taxes when they can avoid it, despite all the faggoty lipservice they give to fucking faggot as hell shitlibs.

so sell in 2021 pay lower rate tax compared to next year, then buy back in at a higher cost basis, it's like voluntarily paying your taxes early becuase you iknow if you pay later you will get raped by the faggots you helped put in office

Don’t do cash. Just put it in a high dividend ETF fun like HANDL, which basically guarantees 7% dividend. It’s free money as long as inflation quiets down a bit

the rational thing to do if you're avg age xoxo is to dump in market on mOnday (vti, itot, or any other TOTAL MARKET USA FUND), but things are crzy and the world is flipped and the jews are in level 10 of their demonic influences, so who knows when the world resopnds with another attempt at the Solution, but in the meantime, no one would call you crazy for dollar cost averaging a 5-7K into th emarket every week, but make it a process, i.e., EVERY fucking week, even in down weeks. in practice, faggots get gun shy in early stages of market retraction, thinking OH SHIT THIS IS THE BIG ONE, and by hte time they find the balls to act on the 2 percent dip the market has alrady fully recovered

JFC xoxo. Nobody thought to ask the OP when he needs this money? The optimal investment plan if he is saving for retirement in 40 years is very different than if he is saving for a down payment or grad school in a couple years.

I will assume that the OP has a long time horizon. In that case, my reaction is to just dump the entire thing into a target-date retirement fund and forget about it. It's easy and brainless, and it's highly unlikely that anything will go horribly wrong.

I agree with other poasters that the market is looking a little frothy right now. It is extremely unlikely that we will continue to 16-17% annual returns. There is a good chance that we will see some kind of correction. If not, then there is a high chance of flat returns for a while.

However, timing the market is a sucker's game. Almost nobody can do it right. Yes, it's possible that the market will crash in a few months. It could also go up another 20% in the next year. If I really had a good idea of what the market was going to do in the short term, I would be calling my broker rather than sharing my tip with a punch of racist pumos. So I think that the idea of holding cash and hoping to "buy the dip" is not a great idea.

If it will cause you major emotional trauma if you buy at the top of the market, you can slowly dollar-cost average into market over a couple months (or even a year). I'm usually not a big proponent of this approach, because the market goes up more often than it goes down, so most of the time this will cost you money. But if you're going to hate yourself every time you check your balance for the next five years if you buy at the top, then you can dollar-cost average to avoid that.

HTFH
