I've been battling a nasty hook/pull all year

Finally realized my hands were too far forward with anything longer than 9i

Neutralized my hand placement at setup, even closing the club face a little. It looked and felt weird at first but everything went straight (pulled slightly left with a few degrees of fade)

My instructor probably couldn't figure this out because his view is always behind the swing

Then at the end I added the Harvey Penick forward press motion into my take back; but extremely subtle (see Ludvig Aberg for example)

Somehow this added like 10-15 yards of carry while keeping the same baby fade and trajectory (probably from optimizing tempo and easier to hinge trail wrist)

TL;DR: I sucked at hitting irons for like 3 months and neutralizing my hand/ball placement fixed everything

fixing having your hands too far forward with a forward press seems odd but hey, golf is weird

I demoed some Ping Blueprints a few weeks ago, one with KBS and one with dynamic gold. DG is the potus. better than that project X shit I currently have.

DG is a tour level shaft

KBS and project X are vanilla off the shelf tier

Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 and Zelos seem more comparable to DG (or better)

Nippons feel smooth as fuck, but they its kind of a weird flex profile and I hit a lot of big pulls or hooks with them. Saw better results with the dg 105 and kbs ctaper lite than the modus 105 and 120 or the PX IO from mid weight shafts.

Plenty of pros play kbs or px, but I think DG is still by far most played iron shaft on tour.

Was also pulling my irons a lot early this year, but sorted it out the last few rounds which is getting me 7 to 9 GIRs instead of 4 to 6 and shaving 3-5 strokes.

Do you have a baby fade too?

I feel like we have similar slightly OTT swings

But you have better lower body mechanics and more wrist hinge
