but all the talk about "slacker culture" and overturning boomer norms in the early-90's was simply abandoned. gen-x became a generation of sycophants, begging the boomers to love them, and working double-overtime toward that end.
that's probably why a lot of gen-x'ers toward the top of the pile (like paul ryan) seem so soulless and empty - i'm sure he even DID listen to RATM back in the 90's, but what did it matter?
