Which stock to pick for the next 2 years? I want to hold stocks that will double or more in two years time.
Give me the stock and why you think it'll double!

This is me, I don't want to be sitting on a bunch of fucking red with no gains to offset against for 2022 onward. I guess I should just buy VOO
Is there's anything that's less likely to fuck me than VTI/VOO et al? Discuss.

Peloton. My thesis is that it is a streaming company not a fitness company. They get $40 a month from bike owners and $15 a month for app/smart tv users. They are adding a ton of niche content like maternity/postpartum, meditation, stretching etc. I think it is a stickier subscription that people wont cancel because then theyd feel bad for themselves. And they spend a fraction of what netflix and others spend on content. rumor is theyll sign some olympians and other big names for content deals soon.
Its upside is similar market cap to netflix IMO which would be an 8X.

anyone know the total "spin class" market and how peloton compares?
just from an average spin class goer, is peloton a better experience? better deal?
also why isn't Pton making any real money today?

dont know total market on spin class - the peloton experience compares favorably and the connectivity with friends around the country is cool. its $40 a month subscription plus $50 a month if you are buying the bike 0% interest through affirm. If you do 6 rides a month it comes to $15 a ride compared to $25-35 for traditional classes.
but they are building out all kinds of other offerings and their smart tv apps bring those offerings to any room. $15 monthly subscription for app access and I think there is major growth potential in that market.
I add $5k everytime it dips on bad news on supply chain or dead kids.

Using any renewable to create hydrogen: solar, wind, tidal, etc. Look up the investments Europe is making in this space, it's clear they're very all in in hydrogen.
Forget stupid electric cars, start thinking about much larger scale power needs. Trucks, power generators, manufacturing facilities, etc. Everyone is fixated on consumer stuff because that's all they know; global power needs are incredibly vast.

sure thing, i mean, it's not like i work at some fortune 150 power company, get nda'd on every m&a event, or see detailed projections where we'll be focusing and divesting from in the coming years or anything.
to be clear, i don't buy our stock aside from espp and never touch anything in our deal pipelines. however, it doesn't stop me from investing in sectors as a whole.
and you're welcome btw

i like all these picks because somewhat speculative.
can someone convince me I'm wrong: the S&P is NOT going to replicate historic 10% returns over the next 5-10 years at these valuations and we will have to pick these kinds of stocks in order to see anything close to historical double digit returns?
the only counterargument i see is just buying AMZN because you assume there will be growth, even if relatively modest compared to the past.
anyone have any international stock picks?

virtually all these picks are actually completely retarded.
And the reasoning is even worse. “I gotta dumb unsubstantiated hunch x industry will grow a lot, so I’m investing my hard earned capital in y” seems like A+ financial wizardry but still. We’d be better off banning retail active investing probably
I tend to kind of agree that equities won’t return very much over the next few years, but I can easily see the counter argument. The s&p is now mainly comprised of massively profitable technology companies with seemingly endless opportunities for incremental growth and huge returns on invested capital. And even within tech software is replacing hardware.
theyve replaced old economy industrial names like GE and US Steel that grow <gdp and inhale capex.
So why shouldn’t multiples be permanently higher than they’ve ever been? and why shouldn’t we expect equities to return in line with the enormous profitability of the biggest tech names? Many of these names (eg Facebook and google) are still grossly undervalued on a DCF basis, so it’s not obvious they won’t still see some multiple expansion from here. Predicting that valuations revert or the mean just because actually seems stupid from this perspective.
