What is true is that Jewish people are disproportionately represented in some professions relative to their (our, fwiw) numbers in the general population. But to go from this simple fact to the idea that there is such a thing as “Jewish influence” implies that many of our actions are somehow performed as Jews qua Jews. I’m not sure of any reason to accept this claim. We certainly aren’t getting together and seeing what we can do as Jews to influence society at large. |
