Had similar experience with two people. I never explicitly came out in support of Trump but apparently my silence was enough evidence for them.
There's a third person who'd periodically send me a screed about Trump, and not long ago I finally responded and said of all the awful things Trump is supposed to have done it's the Democrats who ended up doing them, not him, and pointed out a few examples.
Never heard back. Probably never will again.
People's brains were damaged by Trump. Sometimes I think I know why, other times I still find it mystifying.
Very intelligent people are prone to their own hysteria, nor does rationality always align with intelligence either.

Here's my experience of St. Aug, tell me if Im wrong:
It's pretty far from 95. We just wanted to see it, and didnt realize you have to drive a good 30 min east. That drive is through national geographic type ghetto. Falling down slave quarters, with people sitting ominously on porches, every property surrounded by chainlink fence that has accumulated floating litter.
You finally get to the converted mansion - hotel, whatever it is, the palace in spanish architecture. That signals you have now entered historical old-town St. Augustine, which is picaresque and precisely three blocks deep, about 8 blocks north to south. Cobble stones and alleys and the old homes are now lotion-shops and lululemon and scented candles. From there, youre at the beach and the fort. Fort looks cool for one ten minute visit which is enough for your whole life.
The beach is nice NE Florida. Sand nothing special -- not the brown dirt of northern "beaches", but nothing too white or soft. The surf is good for actual surfing, but makes rough swimming.
And, bam!, you've just seen all of St. Augustine
