For example November 2023 was extremely tumultuous. I still don't know why, but the lawyer (sort of) in me thinks to work backward in 6 month increments, and I know when certain funds got frozen in April. If you assume orgs kept 6 months operating expenses on hand, you can infer that people stopped getting paychecks in November. No notice, because they never knew where the operating expenses were coming from in the first place. Hence the desperation in their tone and their methods.
