Friend tried to save them but the electronic doors wouldn’t open
Adam Cook, a Detroit robotics and car engineer who has worked for Ford, Chrysler, and Toyota building their safety and quality systems, told The Oaklandside that a root-cause analysis is needed to fully understand what happened in the Piedmont collision. But he noted that there have been published reports in the past few years of people who died inside Tesla vehicles because they couldn’t exit a damaged car or because bystanders could not open the doors.
The main issue is that the doors of a Tesla, as well as those of some other manufacturers’ electric vehicles, rely on electronic power “to disengage electronic latches,” the Detroit engineer said. The electronic design schemes rely on the car maintaining power to open the door instead of a simple mechanical latch.
On the Cybertruck, this entry-and-exit issue may be worse, as there are emergency pull cords in “obscure locations which often require rear seat passengers to remove door paneling to access,” Cook said in an email. This mechanism is described in the owner’s manual of both the Cybertruck and the Model Y vehicles.
"Grrrr... why did Elon decide to start making cars have accidents for the first time ever when he invented these horrible Tesas?! What an evil bad Nazi man he is!"

the electrification of everything in a car is one of the worst "innovations" going. increases failure rate of everything, huge safety risk, and in a few years after technology improves all those screens on the dash will look ancient. it's like people swapping out their rolexes for $5 digital timexes at walmart just because digital is still novel and shiny in cars.

always cracks me up when i rent a car and theres no rear window visibility just a computer screen in front of you. how the fuck did common sense windows get replaced with screens.
screens everywhere in combination with electric motors is a tesla/american style EV thing
the core drivetrain of electric cars is far less prone to wear than ICE vehicles simply because there are far fewer moving parts. electric cars have higher failure rates because in the US they are targeted at the kind of consumer who is wowed by everything being computer, not because electric drivetrains themselves are more prone to problems

To be fair,
Do you really want to have the "hmmm how do Teslas statistically stack up against 'normal cars' in aggregate road fatalities over the last five years" argument?
And if you're really just going based on "vibes" and horrible cherry-picked anecdotes (which is exactly what you're doing because even an idiot like you probably has a vague sense that the statistics argument doesn't end up working out in your favor on this), do you really think I couldn't easily Google a bunch of news sources reporting on people getting trapped in and burning to death in horrible car accidents involving 'normal cars'?
Why are you brown people so fucking retarded? You walk around acting like you think "libs are shit" etc etc etc, and yet on almost every issue -- and especially this one -- you're just as much of a hysterical feminine bitchmade faggot as they are. ZOMG TESLARS R DEATH TRAPS N ELON IS AN EVIL FASCICT CHARLATARN NAZI!!!
lmao sad shit bro. Sorry that you were picked on for being brown and having a weird name growing up, but go get some t-shots and learn to think with your left brain a little more, HTH.

> Do you really want to have the "hmmm how do Teslas statistically stack up against 'normal cars' in aggregate road fatalities over the last five years" argument?
Why, I’m glad you asked, I would love to have that argument!
Tesla's vehicles have the highest fatal accident rate among all car brands in America, according to a recent iSeeCars study that analyzed data from the U.S. Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS).

To be fair,
Lmao oh wow, well I mean if "iSeeCars" says so...
Meanwhile, the actual American federal government agency that is responsible for officially testing and quantifying this shit (NHTSA) just had this to say a few weeks ago in its most recent official report:
Oh, and on the topic of your brilliant "sorry bud but I'm pretty sure 'normal' cars don't explode like Teslas do when they get into accidents" argument, the most comprehensive analysis yet conducted on that question -- which was also put out by an actual government agency that is dedicated to assessing this shit (this time in Sweden) -- suggests that 'normal cars' are ~20x more likely to burst into flames when that happens: https://thedriven.io/2023/05/16/petrol-and-diesel-cars-20-times-more-likely-to-catch-fire-than-evs/
That's crazy! I mean, who would have ever guessed that big machines which operate by leveraging tens of thousands of little controlled explosions per hour and haul around ~20 gallons of highly combustible gasoline for fuel at all times could end up creating fire hazards when their gas tanks get ripped open in violent collisions? IDK, that doesn't sound believable to me... maybe we should wait for "iSeeCars" to weigh in on this...
Lmao @ you brown midwit faggot. You spend hours every week decrying bullshit propaganda pumped out by the lugenpresse about the Israel/Palestine conflict, and then you happily fall for it AND SWALLOW THE JEWISH LIES HOOK LINE AND SINKER on this topic without even stopping to question anything. "B-b-but the smart man in the suit on the teevee told me that Teslas are death traps!!!" lmao this is like how Tommy spent years smugly lecturing us all about how ackkkkkshually niggers are little sweet innocent oppressed angels and white people were the REAL horrible violent apes in America, before eventually even he got redpilled and realized he had just fallen for a bunch of kike lies.
Bottom line: You're all brown and retarded, and that's why you all have to go back. HTFH.

To be fair,
Look, goy, who are you gonna believe -- NHTSA (which was looking at crash test data that was primarily collected under the Biden Administration btw) or some random third world faggots at "iSeeCars"?

Utterly predictable, toothless response from an over-the-hill retard. Your time is over, bro. You had a nice run, but you are legitimately fucking retarded, and gay too.
You trust government data now huh? If the government says so, even the foreign governments, you believe it. Where was this spirit from 2019 to 2021? "Haha yeah, haha" Anyway.
A bit about the NHTSA: "Audits by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Office of the Inspector General in 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2021 have concluded that NHTSA is ineffectual; the 2021 audit found NHTSA failing to issue or update Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards effectively or to act within timeframes on petitions and investigations; having no process in place for critical agency responsibilities like evaluating petitions, and having failed to implement consensus recommendations derived from the Inspector General's audit a decade before, in 2011.[11][12] The 2018 audit found NHTSA incapable of conducting adequate, timely safety recalls.[13] The 2015 audit found NHTSA's collection and analysis of safety-related data to be inadequate,[14] and the agency to be lackadaisical and careless in examining safety defects.[15]"
In any case, stupid faggot, you omitted this part about the iSeeCars study: "[it] analyzed data from the U.S. Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS)."
Who organizes FARS data?
"FARS is a nationwide census provided by the NHTSA"
Lol, oops.
But fine, fine, those libs at this no-name organization, maybe they're full of shit. But wait, is it possible that the hordes of Asians and faggots like you and Elon that have a vested interest in Tesla may be mispresenting official government data?
Yes, well in fact, it turns out ICE vehicles do "catch fire" at a higher rate, but many of these vehicles are older, with mechanical issues causing non-fatal, localized fires in the engine bay that are *not* from collisions. When Teslas catch fire, they overwhelmingly catch fire *in collisions* that are far more fatal. In fact, independent data suggests that Teslas are by far the most dangerous vehicles on the road today.
You can read this link, or read this snippet:
"The NFPA (the same organization Tesla is quoting for vehicle fire counts) estimates 560 fire deaths per year in the US over 290 million registered vehicle years [2] or ~1.93 deaths per million vehicle-years.
Third party reports show at least 20 people burned to death in their Tesla's in the US in 2022 [1]. There were ~3.65 million Tesla's worldwide in 2022. If we divide US deaths by worldwide Teslas you get ~5.47 people burning to death per million vehicle-years or ~2.8x deadlier if every worldwide Tesla was in the US. By 2022 the US probably accounted for ~50% of vehicles, so you are probably ~5x more likely to burn to death in a Tesla than the average car (which by the way is ~10 years old, half the price, with fewer safety features)"
Whoa, turns out all those news stories about Teslas randomly combusting and burning everyone inside alive, odd case haha we never hear that happen about Toyotas, maybe there is something there we should look at... Or nah, that's lugenpresse, now that Elon has fixed government we believe everything the government publishes.
You sound like a fucking Israeli, this is how they behave too with all their dumb talking points.
Stupid fuck. Ask for permission before you speak to me next time.

To be fair,
"Oh, you trust government data now, hypocrite?"
IDK I mean it depends on what we're comparing it with... NHTSA's official reports based on tests they recently conducted vs. some secondary "analysis" purportedly conducted by "iSeeCars" (which is literally a random fucking private company founded by chinks and turds with names like Xiexang Chang and Rakanathan Ramasvrivianasan)? Lol I guess so, I guess so. Call me crazy! ;)
Also LJL at you just pushing this "analysis" as if it you actually know what the fuck it even entailed. Oh shit, some rando company with a retarded name founded by chinks (hmmm wonder if there could be any conflict of interest there) conducted a vague "analysis" that conveniently determined that Teslas are shitty death traps! Wow, well I mean, I can't argue with a vague secondary "analysis" put together by "iSeeCars"... 'nuff said!
You gullible dumb brown fuck... also not sure if you noticed or not, but this thread is literally about the CYBERTRUCK, and the official NHTSA report that I cited above WHICH WAS JUST RELEASED A MONTH AGO is ALSO ABOUT THE CYBERTRUCK. You know, the official government report that concluded, in writing, that statistically speaking the Cybertruck is literally the safest pickup truck currently on the road? And yet somehow I'm the "retard" for citing that directly applicable and recent data point from a government agency when I could instead by uncritically lapping up some older secondary "analysis" that was purportedly run by a random chink company called "iSeeCars" on other Tesla models? No wonder you people keep getting the shit beat out of you by Israel... my "analysis" concludes that you're all truly dumb as fuck and will gleefully lap up any drivel just as long as it affirms your prior worldview.
The rest of your poast is similarly retarded and I won't even bother wasting my time with it.
PS: No permission is needed on my part to interact with you because you're a dumb pathetic faggot, and I'll talk to you whenever and however I want and in whatever appropriately condescending manner I see fit to use when I choose to call you out as a moron. Imagine being so delusional that you go around trying to command people to refrain from doing shit on the internet. LJL what a life.
In closing, fuck off back to your shitty desert you stupid brown sandnigger.

We should crowdfund a cybertruck that we can strap you in, crash, and catch fire. Then you can DESTROY all your haters by showing how easy it is to not die an agonizing fiery death.
