It's true. It's nonsensical policy to rob working age people to provide "care" for old people who can't reasonably be expected to be restored to a good QoL.
It's a massive cost in terms of real resources and labor power. Just how much of society should be ordered around extending the lifespan of old people who are essentially terminally ill (i.e., people who may be "cured" of their current malady but will never again be healthy in the way even a 65 year old can be healthy)? The current answer seems to be "a ton, and always more".
Redditors complain about having to work until they're too old and decrepit to enjoy life, but that wouldn't be necessary if people were responsible for their own health and well-being and there was no expectation of the government expropriating resources to extend the lifespan of invalids.

How did they time this perfectly to fuck over Gen X
Is 70 really that old if you’re not Diseased? People with physical jobs should just get it earlier which happens irl basically through SSDI.

Generational Breakdown (Broader Categories):
While the CDC primarily reports by specific age ranges, studies have analyzed vaccination patterns by generational cohorts. Generally, the pattern follows the age trends:
Baby Boomers and Silent Generation: These older generations have had the highest rates of COVID-19 vaccine completion. Studies have shown they are more likely to trust in the vaccine's benefits and efficacy.
Generation X: Uptake among Gen X tends to be in the middle, higher than younger generations but lower than older ones.
Millennials and Generation Z: These younger generations generally have had lower rates of completing the initial vaccine series and significantly lower uptake of updated doses compared to older generations. Factors influencing this can include lower perceived risk of severe illness, differing sources of information (e.g., social media influence), and varying levels of trust in health authorities.
