Yes, but. . .you don't get the decide if its a male or female.
There have been many times travelers get sucked off by a 8/9 CGWBTS, but then are immediately bent over and fucked by a FlightBro.
Very sad

Not as bad as Amex "Revamping" the Gold card with a higher annual fee justified by an $8 monthly Dunkin' credit.

are the chase lounges at capacity all the time? with amex platinum, the stupid centurion lounges have waits all the time. even the delta skyclubs are at capacity half the time. if you do get in, every seat is occupied and the experience is no better than mcdonalds at an empty gate.
at this point, i'm close to giving up on these retarded premium cards

Depends on what you're going for. Do you travel a lot? Do you care about elite status at hotels/airlines and/or lounge access? Do you eat out a lot? Do you care if you get miles vs as much cash back as possible? There are cards with no annual fee that just give you 2% cash back on everything.

I'm guaranteed to make use of the $300 travel credit, $300 StubHub credit, and $120 Lyft credit. The remaining $75 will be no problem.
Paying attention to any of this shit is soulcrushing though. Reminds me of this dude in the poker room last month in Vegas grinding out hours at the end of the month to make sure he got max reward for their freeroll tournament. Awful.

amex plat
- $200 credits for flight is easy, just use it to pay for upgrades to economy preferred, etc
- $199 clear credit - renew my/family's clear account, this one has saved my ass once when there was a massive fucking line at the airport security. ever since then, i've learned to appreciate the benefit for those occasions
- $100 for saks, i buy my wife an expensive pair of panties from saks every 6 months
- $240/yr digital credit i use for hulu/hbomax/disney+
right there i have my annual fee back
in addition i get
- walmart plus (which also gets me paramount+), great for free home delivery from a store i don't want to step into
- amex lounge + delta lounge (if i'm traveling on delta, which is rare so the quota doesn't impact me) + priority pass
- various statement credits you activate (e.g. saved $50 on sunglasses, $100 when ordering a dell for my parents, etc)
- $20 for VERY good primary car rental insurance, regardless of # of days of rental.
- global entry fee comp'd whenever it is renewed

Booking an extra night is very expensive and almost never of value to me (I usually only book 2 nights so this would add 50% of the cost, plus I never need more than 4pm checkout because I'm flying out that evening). And, of course, the late checkout is free - but without it I would either need to checkout in the AM before heading to the office and then leaving bags at the front and not easily being able to change before heading to the airport or pay for an extra night.

I have the Amazon card. It's $0 per year. I apparently get 6% back on Amazon, 2% on hotels and restaurants. This money just appears on my Amazon account and i just click a toggle when i want to use it.
I have no clue how people fork over $800 in order to hope to make it back by piecing together 5 different $5 Doordash coupons that probably have a milliion different rules and exclusions.
The biggest "prize" for all their efforts is to sit in a room at an airport with other people who get their self-validation from sitting in a special room at the airport.

this thread is so autistic it's unreal. people listing the benefits to conclude it's "not worth it" and "who has the time for this!?". the time it took someone to list the benefits out by hand is more than i'll spend min/maxing the card. the $300 travel credit is automatic, so if you book a couple restaurants, use doordash and lyft you're already almost all the way there. and the lounge takes care of the rest, which is the big draw.
lmfao @ xoxo min/maxers eating at the gate with a bagged lunch scoffing at the wasteful loungemos. why travel for pleasure at all then? you could save even more money if you just stayed home and poasted. this is for people where $1000 isn't a big deal, and the convenience and luxury is well worth the cost.
these cards are successful which is why the amex lounges are so packed other companies are getting into the ultra premium category. yet autistic contrarian xoxoers are nebbishly calculating that ackshually if you bring some ramen to the airport instead of going to the loungue you'll save a couple hundred bucks.

i keep an autistic spreadsheet where i estimate the benefit of my amex platinum each year. the benefits do outweigh the cost BUT the most advertised and desirable benefit, centurion lounge access and delta skyclub access are virtually worthless and unpleasant due to overcrowding and waits
that means $225 profit each year ($695 fee - schwab brokerage credit, digital streaming, sakes, airline fee credit, and uber eats) feels like i'm buying shit i don't need
i'd probably be happier eating fast food or homemade sandwiches at an empty gate

This shit reminds me of those prole coupon books they had in the 80s and early 90s.
https://i.redd.it/uknlw20n24ee1.png
They would say "this book has a $3,000" value, but you'd have to spend $30,000 on the goods and services to ever save that.
With that said, I'm an Amexmo and never have an issue getting value for the fees I pay. I have the platinum and delta reserve. Platinum gets you way more miles (5x) that can be used on other airlines and for good hotels. It also gets you centurion lounge access, priority pass, $15/month on Uber, $200 in airline fees, and a monthly Hulu subscription. Delta reserve gets me platinum status, 4 domestic upgrades, and a companion fare. I fly a lot and book a lot of family trips by air so it's worth it to have both and a regular chase sapphire for places that don't take amex.

Cr. I rarely go. For work who cares - pay a premium not to have layovers - and for vacation one of my top criteria is somewhere we can go with a direct flight.
The last few times I’ve wanted to go to one, there’s a line of 15-20 other CSRcucks standing there waiting for their free carrot sticks and tablespoon of hummus.
I went once recently and the only one open for Priority Pass was Virgin at SFO toward closing and it was laughably ghetto - interchangeable with the gate and I should have just bought some canned beers and sat at the gate.

I believe it. A lot of times I'll go to these just to sit somewhere comfortable and pull out my laptop or phone and maybe get something to drink. I don't always eat or might just grab some cheese or salad.
