Like FF7 for PS1 sold like 3m copies in the west, roughly what Prime 1 sold for GameCube, but both just had much much bigger implications for the brand than their sales indicated. Seeing FF7 graphics in commercials would cause westerners to excitedly run out and buy a PS1….. with Jet Moto, Twisted Metal, and NFL Gameday 😎 . Prime made GameCube look like less of a Low Loser machine and it’s an fps and Samus looks like master chief. The fanboys, including the journalists, were like “THANK YOU JFC 9.9/10” |
