Onr week when Texas was about to reopen this faggot blowhard was going off about how they were about to commit a literal genocide which would result in the deaths of billions. The next week the Floyd protests started, and they went out to the city nuts to butts crowded and were justifying it as OK because they wore bandanas to mask up.
Just completely incoherent hypocrisy and they were all just so fucking smug about it.

I just don't blame people for having taken a few weeks to confirm that single data point with their own observations and develop enough confidence to spit in the face of the entire globo-poli-media behemoth.
I am a very skeptical person and my first instinct is always to distrust the government and media. I've said a lot of things in public over the years that pissed people off it been deemed rude and uncouth. I did not feel comfortable calling out the fraud to normies until the second half of March and I won't hold poasters to a higher standard. |

I'm just pointing out that if we're going to parse out blame for who contributed to the slippery slope of COVID policies, the cranks should accept some blame too. When people see one side is calling it a fake virus invented by the Rothschilds that reduces the credibility the anti-lockdownmos.
I'm sure you believe what you say and think its virtuous to say unpopular things despite the consequences. And I agree. But there are consequences, which includes giving lockdown supporters a strawman to dismiss any all opposed to lockdowns as conspiracy cranks. |

I'm just sensitive to being accused (not saying you're doing this) of supporting a limited initial response as tantamount to supporting all of it. Hardline radicals contributed too, just like how insane bluehaired shitlibs wind up hurting their own cause.
I was a very vocal anti-lockdown, anti-PPPmo. I also flagrantly violated lockdown nonsense and endured plenty of angry shitlibs demanding I mask up. That's about the most I could've done on an individual level.
I will say I would be much more hesitant to support reasonable response in the future after experiencing the hysteria it led to, and would oppose the two weeks then if I knew what I know now. |
|
Date: September 2nd, 2026 12:49 PM Author: provocative marketing idea i understand, i'm not accusing you of going full tilt. but my argument is that "two weeks to stop the spread" is the initial frame buy-in, it's the crack in the door that lets the wolf into the hen-house for what followed. its a tricky thing, because oftentimes a kneejerk rejection of globohomo propaganda *also* feeds into their dialectics, so it requires nuance and discernment (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5899908&forum_id=2#50111094) |

Date: September 2nd, 2026 1:15 PM Author: Fracture in the Maidenhead (gunneratttt) I agree. But two weeks was reasonable, I know several doctors who worked in hospitals during the initial outbreak and they were triaging people like medics in a war. I knew then that there's always a risk giving the government powers like that, however the risk of increased deaths and hospitals remaining overrun outweighed that for me. Particularly because I didn't think if lockdowns were extended for YEARS people would be so fucking compliant.
It was a black swan event. We've never experienced multi-year lockdowns before that. I regret underestimating the risk. The whole things reminds me of why I oppose every gun regulation. Many are reasonable, but they are always a camel's nose leading to more because libs want to ban them completely. So you have to oppose them all. I didn't think something that should be non-political like a pandemic response would be utilized to the extent they did. Now I do! |

Date: September 2nd, 2026 3:29 PM Author: Fracture in the Maidenhead (gunneratttt) Well that demonstrates my point that the risk of them extending two weeks into multiple years seemed farfetched. We can debate whether the two weeks was justified forever but I think you'd agree that if it was *JUST* two weeks it might have been an overreaction but a pretty inconsequential one. The bigger issue is what it led to. (http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5899908&forum_id=2#50111640) |

there's an interesting parallel with Fauci's work on AIDS where he labored to make it seem like a disease where heteros were at huge risk (when the risk was for needle users and gay men). with COVID, Fauci tried to hide the fact that COVID was a big threat only to the elderly and people who were immuno-compromised. |

Date: September 2nd, 2026 8:35 PM Author: Submissive stage Here's what almost everyone forgets - the lockdowns made complete sense, and Trump did an amazing job.
We were projected to have over-run hospitals, ventilator shortages, no PPE, etc.
The country locked down, Trump turned the Javits center in a hospital, brought in huge ships to offer hospital beds, found 10x more ventilators than anyone every thought possible.
And then - COVID never came - and libs just got this stupid idea that we could lock down indefinitely - even though the only soluiton we ever had was for everyone just fucking get COVID until it got so week it was NBD - which is what happened with omicron.
Because of that insane policy people forget the original plan and the fact that Trump did actually rise to the occasion - the occassion just never really came (plus ventilators actually just killed people whoops).
