I think Cruz is motivated primarily by money. His claim that he ran for senate with the objective of defending Israel sounds like bullshit, and he doesn’t seem to understand the religious rationale for Christian’s supporting Israel, as evidenced by his Tucker interview. |

So as a relatively normal looking guy who is smart, quick witted, was edgy at the time and has a good delivery, I can certainly see his initial appeal as a politician.
I think his relevance has fallen off a bit. He doesn’t get much airtime and doesn’t seem to be as prominent a figure on the right as he once was. |
