with some commonsense nods to patrimonialism it could leave the baggage behind and run itself. with some vision it could also function as one of those libertarian wet dream places (a thing the world badly needs more of) without upsetting too much. a place for the west to finally have a test case for singapore/gulf/etc-style migration policy.
make it "independent" but a "loose american protectorate" and turn it into the Dubai of western europe. |
