The movie explicitly is just about a few bit players, not a comprehensive “what happened” of the Great Recession. |

And I mean, yeah, it is vaguely compelling that a few people figured it out ahead of time and made big bets and made out like bandits. That entire story just isn't something that is all that compelling over the course of of an entire movie though, especially when you have to sit through all the low IQ explanations.
